There's two ways - and one of them everybody knows - but if you wanted to go that way, you probably would have gone already. There's the other way - but anyone who figures out how to go that way, doesn't stick around long enough to speak about it. But everybody goes eventually, one way or another.
-What does that mean?
I've been wondering about that. Someone told me, long ago, but I cannot remember. It seems like nonsense to me. Sometimes it seems like something more. But the seeming doesn't matter. You should be mindful of that.
Some talk in a roundabout way, and perhaps seem smart - perhaps - but others will talk in a straightforward way, and that may seem them smart as well. But it's not the seeming that matters. Look for utility in what is said.
-That sounds reasonable.
But how can you be sure? Words mean what a speaker likes to say. What is it that you want to hear? Can you be sure it is the same?
-All I want is to know where to go next.
Well, the road only leads this way.
-So I should go that way?
Go whichever way is best, or perhaps whichever way would please you. But which is which?
